About the programme

We’re securing some of the most fascinating and demanding engineering projects in the UK and overseas. On this exciting graduate programme, you’ll actively contribute to our success and growth aspirations by quickly becoming a key member of our Business Winning team.

Working with Business Development, Opportunity Owners, Bids teams and supporting services, you’ll take on responsibilities for a wide range of large value prospects being pursued. Working at Babcock, you’ll have a unique opportunity to explore business growth across our key market areas of clean energy, decommissioning (UK and overseas) and naval defence infrastructure, and gain an insight into the nuclear industry.

Business Winning at Babcock

Join the Business Winning team and you’ll get to work on a wide range of exciting opportunities, learn new skills, and expand your capabilities by working alongside experienced professionals. On this programme, you’ll work closely with expertise in the business development and bidding teams, as well as develop insight and experience working with functional leads in commercial, finance, procurement and engineering professions. You will play an active role in the growth of what we do in the Business Winning team and help shape the future of our business.

And once you have a handle on what we’re about, how we do things, and what it is that you are most interested and capable in, you’ll specialise in an area matching your strengths and ambitions.

 

What you'll need

  • A (Hons) degree in a business-related subject.
  • Many of our early careers roles are subject to Security Clearance and Trade Control restrictions which mean that your place of birth, nationality, citizenship, or residency you hold or have held may impact which roles you are eligible for. For our early careers roles, you must be able to achieve BPSS and many of them require you to be eligible for Security Clearance.

Where you'll be based

Places on our Bids and Proposal Management programme for Autumn 2024 are available in our Nuclear sector in Warrington. We ask our graduates to be flexible as there is the potential to undertake placements in other locations during their programme.

Cavendish Nuclear is a core part of Babcock International Group’s Nuclear Sector. We provide a comprehensive range of critical nuclear solutions across the markets of Clean Energy, Defence and Civil Decommissioning, both in the UK and internationally. From decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, through supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, to supporting the operation and build of nuclear power plants, our role in Cavendish Nuclear is to clean up the nuclear legacy and create a world where nuclear plays a key contribution in protecting our nation, ensuring security of energy supply and meeting our net zero commitments.

We’re looking for graduates with a wide range of qualities, including high technical skills, good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn and adapt to new circumstances.

You’ll call our Warrington hub home, but you could also be involved in developing opportunities from a number of our other locations across the UK and at client sites (including nuclear licensed sites and defence facilities across England and Scotland).
