An assessment centre is a key part of our recruitment process, where we invite shortlisted candidates to participate in a series of structured activities. This day is designed to give us a deeper understanding of your skills, personality, and potential to succeed in the programme you’ve applied for.
What to expect
Held virtually or in-person, each centre includes three stages: group activity, presentation, and interview. Here’s what to expect:
The assessment stages
Group activity
This stage is designed to assess your ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and solve problems collaboratively.
You will participate in a collaborative task or scenario within a small group. This could involve discussions, planning, or problem-solving activities.
We will be looking for your teamwork capabilities, leadership potential, creativity in approaching problems, and overall interpersonal skills.
Presentation
This stage evaluates your skills in researching, preparing, and delivering a presentation.
You will be given a topic to present to a panel of assessors. This will involve presenting your findings and answering any questions from the panel.
Key areas of focus will include the clarity of your communication, the depth of your analysis, and the effectiveness of your presentation skills.
Interview
The interview aims to gain a deeper understanding of your motivations and experiences.
You will engage in a one-on-one or panel interview. This will be an opportunity to discuss your background, career aspirations, and how you align with our core competencies.
We will assess your professionalism, self-awareness, alignment with Babcock’s principles, and your potential for growth within the company.
