  • Stay in fantastic accommodation with modern facilities and plenty of outdoor space to relax in, as well as a heated swimming pool.

“During the first year of my apprenticeship, we had an incredible opportunity to attend a residential week at an Outdoor Activity Development Centre. We took part in activities to help us learn skills in areas such as problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership.

The week helped me prepare for various scenarios at work and taught me how to handle them. It also allowed me to bond and make new friends with other apprentices, building important working relationships.”

Early careers support

You’ll be assigned a member of the early careers team or a business mentor who can help guide you through these early stages of your career. You’ll have regular catch-ups where they’ll provide you with advice, resources and support throughout your apprenticeship.

“At Babcock I have a huge support network. My support network at work includes my line manager, my mentor, the fellow apprentices, my colleagues and the early careers team.”

Kane, Supply Chain and Procurement Apprentice

Networks

As part of our commitment to supporting our employees, we sponsor a variety of employee networks within the business. These networks cover everything from neurodiversity through to STEM, disability, PRIDE and more. Networks support their members in a variety of ways, including connecting people across the business and empowering them to achieve their potential.

Find out more about our employee networks.

Social and community life

We have a wide network of apprentices and graduates who join Babcock each year and there’s always a social event for you to get involved with. Whether it’s sports like football or cricket, or interest-based groups like photography – our social clubs are a great way to make new friends and have some well-deserved down time. Here’s what apprentice Abby says:

“There are lots of ways to get involved at Babcock. I am part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) community at Babcock – I attend school events in the local area to help promote careers in STEM. I also took part the Babcock 10k Series this year, completing three 10km running races across the UK.”
