Tahmid refits ships for the Royal Navy

“I love the fact that I work on board the ships almost every day. It’s extremely rewarding to see what work is being done when a ship is going through a refitting process. Being able to sign off a compartment once all repairs have been completed is a nice feeling of accomplishment.”

Reece is designing world-class ships

“I feel a great sense of pride when I complete a project or a large piece of work knowing it’s completed to the highest professional standard – be that drawings, calculations, or report. Getting to see the physical product come to fruition is great, especially when that product is a ship and is such an impressive size!”

Isabella is helping to ensure energy security

“ I joined Babcock because I wanted to be part of creating sustainable energy solutions and protecting the environment. In my waste and environmental management role, I make sure nuclear byproducts are safely disposed of, which is crucial for keeping public trust and following regulations. By managing nuclear waste efficiently, I help keep nuclear power a stable and reliable energy source, enhancing our overall energy security.”

Harry is servicing aircraft for the Royal Air Force

“Babcock is an excellent place to kick-start your career in engineering and gain engineering knowledge working in an aviation environment. Throughout my apprenticeship I have rotated through different departments, usually working as part of a team to service a specific aircraft. Being able to talk to and learn from experienced staff has been the most rewarding part of the apprenticeship so far.”
