Ready to kick-start your IT career? Join Babcock as an IT Graduate and dive into the exciting projects that drive our global operations. Over the two-year programme, you’ll explore various aspects of IT, collaborate with a variety of teams, and gain practical experience as you apply your degree knowledge in real-world settings.

Whether you’re passionate about management, coding, cybersecurity, enterprise resource planning (ERP) or exploring the fascinating world of artificial intelligence, we’ve got a place for you.

Information Technology at Babcock

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you could work on a range of different projects from one or more of our key IT areas:

  • Transformation Office: Focus on driving strategic change, challenging the status quo, and fostering collaboration. This team plays a critical role in implementing our IT environmental strategy and enhancing our partnerships to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Business Relationship Management: Act as the bridge between IT and the business, shaping and translating business needs into IT strategies and solutions.
  • Strategy & Architecture: Develop Babcock’s enterprise architecture and technology strategy, ensuring we leverage the best technology to drive innovation and enhance customer delivery while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Data Office: Ensure access to high-quality data for decision-making, creating dashboards, data applications, and driving a data-driven culture throughout Babcock.
  • Information Security Office: Develop and execute the Group’s Cyber and Information Security strategy, focusing on safety, security, and operational excellence. The Security Operations Centre (SOC) leads our cyber defense efforts, while teams within Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) manage security frameworks and risk.
  • Enterprise Solutions: Support the delivery and maintenance of over 400 critical applications, including ERP systems like SAP & IFS, which manage global HR, finance, procurement, and more. These applications are vital to the engineering lifecycle of complex assets like ships and submarines.
  • Governance, Delivery and Application Solutions: Oversee the delivery of around 200 IT projects annually, along with managing in-house and commercial application estates.
  • Service Delivery: Secure the availability and efficiency of systems and services across the organisation, working with teams and suppliers to improve service quality.

Whatever area of IT you want to specialise in, we can tailor your placements to help you maximise the time you spend with the relevant teams.
